Crosslane Student Developments have recently secured planning permission for a new 237-bed student accommodation development in Edinburgh's city centre.
The site is valued at £30.7 million and will offer en-suite accommodation in cluster flats for between three and six people, as well as luxury studio accommodation for individuals and couples.
Jon Stewart, Director at Crosslane Student Developments, pointed out how Edinburgh is home to 47'000 students and is now "one of the fastest growing city regions in Europe, and continues to be a first choice city for prospective students looking for new, purpose-built facilities."
He added that "the project has the additional benefit of expanding our Scottish footprint and building our portfolio of projects in the region." Work is expected to begin immediately on the vacant site on Lutton Place, off South Clerk Street, and is expected to be complete in time for the 2017 academic year.
Crosslane Student Developments are also currently commissioning an extension of St. James' Point, a 57,000 sq ft development opposite Newcastle University's Business School. Crosslane Fund Managers, a Chester">ManChester-based division of the Crosslane Group which specializes in the European student accommodation market, has also recently appointed a new CEO.
