A school in Prague is offering supported student accommodation for senior high students (sixth formers).
Riverside School has built two high quality houses, one for male students and one for female, which will aim to prepare them for university and adult life. There will be a staff team permanently living there, but in a supportive capacity, not as typical boarding house parents. This effectively means that students will do their own washing, purchase their own food and cook their own meals, but will also be expected to be at 'home' during specific hours each night, depending on their age.
It is an interesting middle ground between school houses and university halls, and only time will tell whether similar initiatives might be adopted in the UK.
