The proposals, composed of 10, 12 and 14 storey towers would house 393 bedrooms for students, while the three-storey town houses would provision 175 bedrooms for the city. The development, which includes communal facilities, courtyard and bicycle parking would join a host of other student developments taking place across the city, to fulfil growing demand as Coventry's two universities continue to expand.
A notable other development, by Coventry University and Barberry Developments will supply 1,200 student rooms and retail space to the city.
Coventry University was established in 1992 and is currently home to over 25,000 students, according to 2013/14 public HESA data. The University of Warwick, established in 1965, is home to 23,570 according to data published on the University of Warwick's website.
