Ground Breaks on a £22 Million Edinburgh Development

Posted by Ross Jones-Morris in

A £22 million student development has broken ground this week as Graham Construction begins its transformation of two grade B-listed tenement blocks in Edinburgh.

Over the next year the former office blocks on the site at Buccleuch Place will be transformed into cluster flats containing 246 student bedrooms. On the Meadow Lane site however Graham will be demolishing the current buildings on the site to make way for four blocks containing 22 cluster flats and 138 bedrooms.

The company's regional director Neil Macfarlane said of the project, “Securing this contract with one of Scotland's most respected universities is a real boost for Graham Construction, and the two-part dimension of refurbishing existing premises on site coupled with a new build construction poses an interesting challenge – one the team is looking forward to.”
