Empiric Have Applied for Permission to Build on a Coastal Site in Falmouth

Posted by Ross Jones-Morris in

Empiric have acquired a waterside site in Falmouth with an eye to building a new student block and several four-to-six bedroom houses.

The prolific developer has now applied for planning permission for the site to build the accommodation which when finished will house more than 300 students. It marks Empiric's second foray into the student market in the city after they opened their first Maritime Studios block next to Falmouth University's Woodlane Campus.

An investment partner at Miller Commercial Chartered Surveyors (a firm that helped Empiric secure the deal) had this to say about the Falmouth student accommodation market, "Falmouth presents an ideal opportunity where the growth in student numbers here is expected to nearly double by 2018 and I believe that developing this type of bespoke student accommodation is the best and most sustainable way to support Falmouth University's pressing need for student housing whilst also protecting the towns existing residential areas."
