Proposals for student accommodation consisting of over 500 new student flats as well as a swimming pool and trampoline studio have been put forward, as part of plans to develop Cardiff Met University.
The development would consist of two separate buildings that have been earmarked south of the existing site. The first would consist of a block of accommodation, whilst the second would hold offices, a kitchen, laundrette and some additional beds.
The seven storey student accommodation block would hold 74 en-suite rooms per floor with a kitchen/dining room for every eight to 10 rooms.
According to planning consultants the area has been thoroughly appraised and work with council staff is already underway.
Despite the plans to develop the area there are concerns from councillors that that accommodation facilities will be too big and may have a negative impact on people living in the area.
