A new 22 storey tower, which will house hundreds of student flats, has been approved in Swansea city.
To make way for the new development the mariner street car park will be cleared and replaced with a 725-bedroom student block, which will come fully equipped with amenities such as a gym, nightclub, bars, restaurants and shops.
According to Swansea council leader Rob Stewart, the project will be a major step forward for High Street's regeneration and will build upon the work already done in the area.
It's understood that there is a growing need for student accommodation in Swansea, as both Swansea University and Trinity Saint David universities continue to expand.
The new tower will be the second tallest in the city and will be located next to Meridian Quay. Expectations are that construction will be finished by the summer of 2018.
