Residents Group Aims to Fight Latest Cambridge Development

Posted by Richard Ward in

A new group named Friends of Croft Gardens has been established in order to fight the most recent development proposal from King's College in Newnham, Cambridge.

Under current plans fifteen homes and a nursery school would make way for the development at Croft Gardens just off Barton Road, which would include a brand new nursery and residential units as well as student accommodation.

One of the principle concerns put forward by Friends of Croft Gardens is that the layout of the development is seen as high-density, heavily massed and uninteresting.

The newly formed group has launched a petition asking King's College to reconsider its demolition plans and has also asked the city council for a development control forum so that its concerns can be put forward to the developer.
