Revised proposals for a self-contained student village that can house nearly 1,400 students next to Sefton Park in south Liverpool looks likely to get the go-ahead.

Liverpool City Council will consider the planning application put forward by the University of Liverpool on June 28. The 29.2-acre site will be located on Greenbank Lane in Mossley Hill.

The proposals include replacement halls of residence following the successful demolition of Roscoe Hall, Gladstone Hall, Warden's Lodge, Warden's Court, Rathbone Hall, Rathbone House and Derby House.

The university plans to distribute the students across four main properties with the largest being eight storeys high. Meanwhile, Derby Hall will remain but will be refurbished as part of the development.

Ahead of the planning meeting it's understood that planning officers have recommended that councillors approve the scheme, which was revised after the university reconsidered the proposals leading to the decision to submit amended plans.
