Roseworth Property Management has applied for permission to build its own student housing scheme situated next door to its city centre office.
The company has previously focused on renting accommodation across Newcastle to undergraduates but is now looking to create its own five-storey building which will include office space and student flats.
The plans indicate that the building would sit on top of a pre-existing car park and would be constructed onto the gable end of the property firm's base on the corner of John Dobson Street.
The development will include space for seven student flats, each coming equipped with a double bedroom, kitchen/living area and a shower room.
The planning application also states that the proposed building is designed to tie into the scale of the adjacent buildings, whilst the mix of commercial use and student accommodation on the upper floors would be suitable for the area.
The plan is that that rooms will be used solely for those in full time education, which it is hoped will help bring added economic benefit to the area.
