Students attending Abbey College Manchester, now have the opportunity to board in one of 72 new en-suite bedrooms located at Riverside House on Blackfriars Road, which is less than a mile from the main college building in the city centre.

The college has invested in new purpose built accommodation and has teamed up with the provider Portergate Property Management to provide luxury student housing.

The building includes 24 hours' on-site security as well as CCTV, on-site maintenance, communal areas and laundry facilities.

Students will also be catered for on a full board basis.

Principal Liz Elam said of the development: "In launching our new highly contemporary, secure boarding facility at Riverside House we are able to expand our student offering, consolidating our position within the city, and reasserting our standing as a major independent educational provider."

It's hoped that the new development will enable the college to grow its student base as well as improve its presence in the North West.

Around 230 students currently attend the college, with around three quarters coming from the local area.
