Students Unhappy Over Rent Refunds

More than 100 new student flats could be built on the outskirts of Bath city centre by August 2018.
The 115-bed student housing scheme will be situated behind the Argos warehouse off Upper Bristol Road and Midland Road.
Documents submitted with the application call for a four-storey high purpose-built student accommodation block, that will come with 24-hour management.
Watkin Jones Group hopes that the site will be completed before the start of the 2018/19 academic year, that's if Bath and North East Somerset Council do decide to grant planning consent.
The plans were scaled back from their initial design, which originally called for a five storey high block after residents raised concerns over the height and mass of the building.
Those students located in the south-facing flats will overlook the River Avon and a communal garden and it's hoped that the proposal will improve the Bath Western Riverside and facilitate the regeneration of this part of Bath.
Both the University of Bath and Bath Spa University plan to increase their student intake numbers over the coming years, which will result in increased demand for student housing in the region.
Council planning chiefs are expected to make a decision on the development by November 25.
