Student Cribs has reportedly secured £200m in funding from institutions as it looks to expand its holding of HMOs.

Over the next four years the student accommodation provider will use the funds to invest in and expand its portfolio by 500 properties, increasing the number of beds under management to 3,500.

Potential acquisition targets include individual HMOs in university cities they deem to be of high quality, portfolios of HMOs and period conversion opportunities.

Those cities that are potential targets for investment include Manchester, Durham, Exeter and Cardiff as well as other major university towns and cities.

The latest funding represents the largest capital raising ever secured by the company, which was founded back in 2002.

The company already has an established portfolio of over 180 properties across 12 towns and cities across the UK.
