326-bed Student Accommodation Development in York Completed

Eric Wright has completed an 18-month project to deliver student housing in York totalling 326 beds.

The £12.7 million McLaren Property development, which comprises of two, four-storey blocks with 326 bedrooms, will serve the University of York, the University of York St John and a local teaching hospital.

The development was completed in time for the 2016/17 academic year and was designed by Leeds based DLA Architecture.

The development comes equipped with student and administration facilities, secure bicycle and car parking and landscaped gardens open to both students and staff. An external fence surrounds the development, providing gated access for cars, cycles and pedestrians.

Located in the city centre, the site allows easy access to students, staff and visitors arriving on campus.

John Hartnett, operations manager at Eric Wright Construction, said of the project: "This high quality student accommodation is designed to help meet York's growing student housing requirements.
