A pre-application request has been lodged with Swansea Council for an 11-storey, 242 bed accommodation block on what is currently a ground-level car park.

Information on the development is still limited and the company is yet to release detailed plans. The developer, Crosslane Student Developments has however organised an exhibition scheduled for this Thursday.

Development manager at Crosslane, Lisa Timberlake, has said of the scheme, "The proposed development would be sited on the temporary car park at 14-18 The Kingsway and would provide much needed accommodation for students of the city's universities. We are looking forward to sharing and discussing our draft masterplan at the public exhibitions and hearing what local people think of our plans to transform this site. If all goes well, we expect to submit a planning application at the end of the year."
