Glasgow is set to welcome what could be argued is the coolest student accommodation this year.

Due to open in September, true Glasgow West End will come equipped with its very own 15ft slide, as well as festival space, cinema room, meeting hub, library cafe, fully-staffed gym and a bookable dining room for friends and family visitors.

Created by true Student, the development will consist of 589 en-suite bedrooms and has been designed by KKA Architects.

The £40 million development is being promoted by Clyde Property and prospective tenants will have the opportunity to look around the accommodation in April.

In addition to the high-specification, students are also able to stay in the flats during holidays and rooms can be booked for up to three years, ensuring students don't have to move their belongings to a new residence each year.

Marc Carter, managing director of true Student said: "Parents and students alike are seeking better accommodation for their money, with many expecting home-from-home comforts such as high-speed broadband and quality amenities included in the weekly rent, rightfully so.

"Where and how you live has a huge impact on your student experience, and it is our goal to provide a safe, comfortable and superior residential life for all of our tenants."
