Crosslane Student Developments has celebrated the topping out of The Old Printworks student accommodation development in Edinburgh.

The purpose-built student housing will open in time for the 2017/18 academic year, after work began on the site in January 2016.

The scheme, which is being built to a high specification, will feature 44 studios and 193 cluster flat bedrooms ranging from three to nine bed clusters.

In addition, the site will come equipped with communal facilities including a common room, meeting space, laundry facilities, a gym and bike storage.

The total development value of the property is estimated at £31 million.

Commenting on the ceremony, director of Crosslane Student Developments, Jon Stewart, said: "We are on track and on budget for The Old Printworks development at 20 Bernard Terrace, Edinburgh. We continue to assess potential opportunities to further grow our successful student accommodation business in the UK and Edinburgh itself, a city with strong supply/demand fundamentals for purpose-built student accommodation."
