Crosslane Student Developments has completed the topping out of its Albert Place development in Newcastle.

Situated at Albert Street, the purpose-built student accommodation is due to open in time for the start of the 2017-18 academic year.

The scheme is located in central Newcastle, adjacent to the University of Northumbria City Campus East and within walking distance to the main campus. Newcastle University is also located nearby along with public transport links including the metro.

The student development will consist of 133 beds split across cluster flats and 1 self-contained studio apartment. The site will also come equipped with high-spec communal facilities, including an onsite gym, landscaped courtyard and common room.

Albert Place represents Crosslane's fourth development in Newcastle, taking the total number of beds delivered in the city by Crosslane over the past four years to 700.

Commenting on the ceremony, Charlie Pogson, Director of Marketing for Crosslane Student Developments, said: "We are pleased to be on track and on budget for Albert Place, our fourth development in the city, which will help to meet the strong growth in demand for this type of student accommodation in Newcastle when it opens in September 2017. Crosslane has invested significantly in the city, by delivering a total of 700 beds including Albert Place, with a combined value of approximately £60 million."
