Crosslane Student Developments has submitted plans to build its first student accommodation development in Dublin.

Situated at the junction of Carman's Hall and Garden Lane, the proposed purpose-built student accommodation consists of 232 beds.

The development sits a short walk away from Trinity College Dublin and the Royal College of Surgeon's campus, while University College Dublin and City University are a short bus ride away.

Under the proposals, the student development will comprise of 232 en-suite beds arranged in cluster flats of between five to eight bedrooms.

The development is made up of four residential blocks of between three to six storeys and will also have its own private courtyard.

Facilities included within the plans include a common room, gym and study room, as well as bicycle storage and a coffee shop on the ground floor.

Commenting on the application, Development Manager for Crosslane Student Developments, Lisa Timberlake, said: "Crosslane is delighted to have submitted its first planning application for a student accommodation development in Dublin. The proposed scheme is in the heart of the city centre and a short walk to Trinity College Dublin and the Royal College of Surgeons, with easy public transport connections to University College Dublin and City University. At 232 beds, the scheme would have a significant impact in easing the supply / demand fundamentals which persist for purpose-built student accommodation in Dublin."

If all goes to plan Crosslane hope to complete the development in time for the 2019-20 academic year.
