Nottingham is due to receive hundreds of new student flats as planning permission was granted for three separate developments.

All three schemes will be located close to the city centre and were lodged by individual applicants.

The development at the Christian Centre in Talbot Street will accommodate 330 students, whilst a further 66 flats will be constructed on land next to Canal Street. Finally, a five-storey building will be built on a site in Derby Road.

Redoak are behind the largest of the developments, which is planned for the Christian Centre. The scheme will consist of a nine-storey building, featuring a large central courtyard, and 330 student beds.

The second development, by Bricross Developments, will result in the construction of three buildings for a further 66 students, located on land off Castle Boulevard.

The third and final development will be build on Derby Road, with existing buildings being demolished to make way for a five-storey scheme.

Despite concerns being raised over the density of student accommodation in the city centre, all three schemes were granted approval.
