Broadley Group has benefited from a boon in student accommodation in Leeds resulting in a doubling of the group's turnover in the last year.

The Broadley Group reported a 100% increase in turnover year on year in 2017, increasing from £20m to £40m.

The company also increased its number of full time employees from 150 to 260 over the same period.

The company completed a number of high profile developments around Leeds including the luxury Park Square Residence for YPP.

The company is also working on a new £12m student scheme on the former Walkabout bar site on Cookridge Street, which is due for completion this year.

Commenting on the results, chairman of the Broadley Group Gary Broadley, said: "We have bucked a wider downturn in the construction sector by focusing on operational excellence.

"Developers operate to tight deadlines, and we have built a reputation for delivering projects on-time and on-budget.

"This approach is also proving popular with housing associations."

In 2016 Parklane Group bought a 50% share of the Broadley Group with whom it has worked with for nearly 20 years.
