Developers have put forward plans to build 190 cabins for students on land north of Beevor Street, behind the Lincoln Science and Innovation Park.

The unique proposals have been put forward by Jackson & Jackson Developments, who worked with the University of Lincoln on the Poplar Gardens proposal.

Each cabin has been designed with two en-suite bedrooms, as well as a communal space and kitchen.

The development also contains a base for student support services, car park provision, games area, outdoor gym, and an open space for a vegetable garden.

Commenting on the scheme, Dominik Jackson from Jackson & Jackson Developments, said: "We're pleased to work alongside the University on this project. We've worked well together in the past and have a proven track record for delivering quality student accommodation in the city."

Meanwhile, Chris Spendlove, Registrar at the University of Lincoln, added: "To keep up with the growth in demand from students wishing to study here, the university is putting in place a provisional plan with an established local developer to provide additional university housing close to the main campus to ensure that all students can have the choice to live in purpose-built high-specification student accommodation."
