Developers Seek to Increase Scale of Bournemouth Scheme

ASN Capital Investments Ltd has submitted revised plans to develop student accommodation in Bournemouth's Wimborne Road.

The company already has planning permission to build a two-storey block of flats behind the existing Arts University Bournemouth block dubbed Hector but is now looking to add an extra floor. The increased height of the building will provide a further six flats on top of the 15 already approved.

The proposed student development sits off the main road behind the Winton YMCA.

Documents submitted as part of the application said: "The only difference between the two schemes is the additional floor of development."

"The proposals are quite apparent on the application drawings and will make most effective use of the site to support the local need for dedicated student accommodation and the highly successful educational institution which it serves."

Under the proposed development no parking spaces will be provided, which traditionally has faced criticism from locals.
