More than a third of rooms at the student residence being built on Percys Lane in York have already been reserved despite construction work still ongoing.

The scheme will feature a total of 106 student bedrooms once complete, with rents starting from £155 pppw.

The development will feature and on-site gym, a cinema, a games room and a courtyard area. Those those living in the accommodation will also have access to high speed WiFi and a subscription to Perkbox.

Commenting on the development, Ann Scott from developer S Harrison, said: "This development will give students at both the University of York and York St John University a superb place to live in purpose-built accommodation."

"Its location at the heart of York's Walmgate Conservation area, just a five-minute walk away from Parliament Street and the city centre's main retail and leisure core, means it's already proving to be extremely popular."

"There's also an exceptional range of communal facilities on offer and the show apartment offers a genuine feel for the quality fixtures, fittings and furnishings that are a key feature of the scheme."

The scheme, which will be managed by Hello Student and is due for completion in September, will consist of a number of self-contained townhouses with their own front doors, but with all the mod cons students expect.
