The development of Scotway House in Glasgow has reached a major milestone after the completion of a topping out ceremony.

Representatives from Structured House Group (SHG), Graham Construction, Nixon Consultants and BOHO gathered at the summit of the 14-storey development, which is being transformed into student accommodation as part of a £40 million GDV project.

The scheme marks the first in a series of projects planned by SHG, which forms part of a £500 million joint venture deal with a US company.

Scotway House is located on the site of the former Meadowside Shipyard Office and will be able to accommodate almost 400 students once built.

Craig Inglis, CEO of SHG said "We have reached a significant milestone on the build and we are proud our new accommodation will be a landmark along the Clyde. Investment in Glasgow is one our key ambitions and to continue the transformation of this great city as a place people want to live, work, visit and invest."

"Our aspirations for the city are to build excellent developments, provide jobs, boost the local economy, and to see a sizeable amount of investment that supports the ambitions of this city. That is why we are excited to see the transformation of Scotway House that continues to grow week-by-week."
