Clegg Construction has handed over a completed student accommodation scheme in Derby.

The development has become one of Derby's tallest buildings, standing 26-metres tall and consisting of 244 bedrooms.

The scheme was developed by Jensco on behalf of the University of Derby and features a number of communal areas, including kitchens and dining spaces.

The accommodation is located next door to the University of Derby's Law School, which is located in another building also built by Clegg Construction.

Commenting on the finished project, Simon Blackburn, Managing Director of Clegg Construction, said: "We are delighted to have been involved with two landmark buildings in Derby, One Friar Gate Square and the student flats complex next door."

"We are also pleased to have been able to support the local area through the Section 106 agreement and carry out the important work of preserving a piece of Derby's history by reinstalling the tram tracks and cobbles."
