Canterbury Christ Church University is to sell its buildings in Broadstairs after relocating students.

The buildings have been listed with Savills, with buyers being sought for the freehold of the student accommodation block at Northwood Court and the Allen and Carey buildings on campus.

The campus stopped taking in students last month after relocating courses to Canterbury as part of its 10 to 15-year Estate Master Plan, which will see it invest £150 million into new buildings and facilities.

The Broadstairs campus was opened in 2000 to provide local residents with access to higher education. However, university bosses said most students from Thanet chose to study at Canterbury instead.

According to the listing by Savills, the site will be sold by private treaty, with a guide price provided on application.

Lot 1 includes the Allen and Carey buildings, which are arranged as a mix of office/education accommodation with a food hall and commercial kitchen.

Lot 2 in Northwood Court consists of 86 student rooms, parking and a gated communal courtyard and garden.

It's understood the lots could be sold separately or as a whole.
