The University of Salford's Waterside Village is due to be upgraded under plans put forward by Student Cribs.

Located off Seaford Road, the site currently comprises of 13 blocks of accommodation that vary in height between two and three storeys, providing a total of 247 bed spaces.

The current building has been described as reaching the end of its lifespan and therefore doesn't provide the standard of accommodation that aligns with the expectations of students.

Student Cribs is therefore planning to develop 511 bed spaces across 134 separate units. These will vary between one and two-bed flats along with larger cluster flats containing up to nine bedrooms.

Under the plans some of the existing blocks will be demolished and replaced, whilst others will be newly built. Some existing buildings will also be extended with all retained buildings undergoing some form of refurbishment.

The project will be delivered in phases, although the exact timescale has not been set.
