DfE Confirms Tuition Fee Freeze
22nd Jan 2021
Work has started on a £45m student accommodation development in Liverpool.
Mount Property Group bought the site from Anwyl in June last year. Work to transform the former National Express bus station has now started with clearance work commencing.
Under the plans, two blocks will be constructed, with the first consisting of 16 storeys and the second 10. In total 566 student beds will be provided, split between 472 cluster flats and 94 studios.
The scheme has been designed by Falconer Chester Hall and will also come equipped with a games area, gym and private courtyard between the two blocks.
Mount Property Group will act as the main contractor for the build, whilst Thomas Contracting is carrying out the groundworks.
The accommodation is due to be complete in time for the 2020-21 academic year.
The development represents Mount Group's second major student scheme acquisition last year, having previously snapped up a 124-bed project in Devon Street for an undisclosed price in May.
