Another pub in Preston could make way for student accommodation if plans are given the go ahead.

The Unicorn in North Road could be converted to create five student rooms on the first floor and communal space on the ground floor.

Applicant Ebrahim Bassa of HMV North is also looking to build a three to five-storey building consisting of 123 student studios. The new building will also come equipped with a roof terrace and a bicycle storage area.

The brand-new block of flats is being proposed between the Unicorn Pub and the Moorbrook Pub and would be set back from North Road.

Builders have also outlined plans for a courtyard between the Unicorn Pub and the new student accommodation. The proposed scheme will be 'car free' with no parking provisions within the site.
