Swansea University Tops Student Satisfaction Table

According to league tables produced by, Swansea University came out on top for student satisfaction last year.

The league tables are derived from 41,000+ students who participated in the annual review of 160 UK institutions.

Not only did Swansea University achieve top spot, winning University of the Year, but its Welsh counterparts also outperformed their Scottish and English peers.

Commenting on the results, Simon Emmett, CEO of IDP Connect, said: "This year's strong results are a clear indicator that despite the increasing cost associated with accessing a university education, students recognise and value the opportunities, support and teaching that they receive."

Swansea University also claimed top spot under the International category, with Professor Paul Boyle, VC elect at the university commenting: "We are thrilled to have been crowned the Whatuni Student Choice Awards University of the Year for the second time in five years. As the award is voted for by students, it makes it even more special as they are at the heart of all we do at Swansea."

Overall satisfaction among students was recorded at 4.04/5, with 69 universities registering an improved level of satisfaction from their own students.
