Plans to redevelop Twerton Park stadium in Bath have received an early surge of support.

Under the plans, the project will replace the spectator stand, putting in a new east terrace, adding a community hub, gym and upgrading Twerton High Street. The development will also lead to the construction of more than 350 student bedrooms.

Even though the application only recently went live on the council's website, it has already had comments from 87 residents, with the majority supporting the plans.

Those backing the scheme suggest the new infrastructure and people will revitalise the area and benefit the community.

Bath City FC said that students living in the new purpose-built student accommodation will not be allowed to bring a car as part of their tenancy agreement, with those breaking the rules being at risk of having their agreement terminated.
