Collegiate AC has secured funding from Proprium Capital Partners as part of a joint venture to develop student accommodation assets in Italy.

Collegiate has previously expressed an intention to raise capital so it can expand its offering globally.

This first phase will target the development of 3,500 student bedrooms over the next three years.

The first scheme will consist of 700 bedrooms and will be one of the first major purpose-built student accommodation developments in Milan. The development is aimed at meeting strong demand for high-quality accommodation in an internationally recognised university city.

Eri Cuanalo, CEO of Collegiate, says: "We intend to set new standards in terms of quality, living environment, service and facilities to provide more choices to national and international students choosing to study in Milan and other university cities across Italy. We're experiencing unprecedented demand for our high-quality accommodation throughout Europe and are very excited to be entering this partnership with Proprium in Italy."

Collegiate already operate thousands of high-end student beds in locations across the UK, including but not limited to Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Derby, Dundee, Lincoln, Swansea and Reading.
