AB Glass has secured a £1.5m contract to work on a new block of student accommodation in Swansea.

The company will work alongside the construction firm ISG to deliver a £39m block of purpose-built student accommodation at Mariner Street.

Consisting of 17 storeys, the building will be able to accommodate 780 students and will become the second tallest in the city.

The development project represents the third such scheme ISG has delivered for Fusion Student, with the new accommodation due to open in time for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Commenting on the build, Alan Brayley, managing director at AB Glass, said: "We are very pleased to deliver out manufacturing and installation services to the Fusion Student project. We are aware of the increase in demand for student accommodation in Swansea for its two main universities and we think the new Fusion Student build will help mitigate this demand."
