Global Student Accommodation (GSA) and Harrison Street are to build a 235-bed block of purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) in Dublin.

The development will also feature 37 build-to-rent units, which will be managed via GSA's Uninest Residence brand.

Located in Dublin's Liberties district, Sweeney's Corner will come equipped with cluster flats, studios and one-bedroom apartments. The residence will also feature a gym, rooftop terrace, communal garden, concierge and cinema room.

The scheme is due to be ready in time for the 2021 academic year.

Robert Mathias, Senior Managing Director and Head of International Business for Harrison Street, says: "The development of Sweeney's Corner represents the strength of our partnership with GSA and we are thrilled to continue to work alongside them. Dublin's student housing market remains significantly underserved with high barriers to entry and we look forward to continuing to provide students in top-tier university cities with much needed access to world-class accommodations."

Nicholas Porter, Chairman at GSA, says: "We're thrilled to announce this new development with Harrison Street to support students in the underserved Dublin market. This is further progress to achieving our purpose of providing students worldwide with a first-class student experience."
