Plans have been put forward to build a six-storey block of student accommodation in Leicester's city centre.

Earmarked for Marble Street, the scheme would sit next to the existing eight-storey iQ Student accommodation building.

If approved, the current building on the site would be demolished to make way for a new 61-bed block.

The applicant, Tang Development Limited, is looking to provide 13 studios and 48 apartments.

According to documents submitted as part of the application, the proposed building has been designed to fit in with the surrounding buildings, with vertical glazing breaking up the brick facade to create a modern aesthetic.
