Greystar Real Estate Partners, an international real estate developer, alongside one of Canada's largest pension investment managers, PSP Investments, have announced works are now underway on a new PBSA scheme near London Bridge Station.

The scheme, named Chapter London Bridge, is scheduled for opening in the 2025 academic year. The development will be another addition to PSP's Chapter brand, which provides student accommodation across 11 properties in London.

Designed by architects Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, Chapter London Bridge will stand at 138-metres and will contain 905 student beds across its 39 storeys. The development will also feature 15,000 sq. ft of space for other amenities.

Demolition contractor Cantillon has started to work on-site to demolish the 10-storey Capital House on 42 Weston Street to prepare the site for construction.

Mace has been appointed by Greystar and PSP Investments as the main contractor for the construction, who aim to reduce the environmental impact of the scheme by implementing modern methods.

Andrew Jones, Project Director at Mace said: "We are delighted to have been selected as Greystar's construction partner, working together with Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates to deliver such an ambitious scheme. Delivered through an advanced modern methods of construction approach, we will maximise bespoke off-site solutions to drive faster, safer and greener delivery to a consistent factory quality."
