Sunderland Office Building Transformed into Luxury Student Accommodation

An unused office in Sunderland has been transformed into student accommodation as part of a multi-million pound renovation project.

Funded by Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, SSG Properties has developed the building into purpose-built student accommodation available to those attending the University of Sunderland.

The building is situated close to local amenities, public transport links and The Bridges Shopping Centre.

The student development consists of 88 double rooms split across a mix of penthouses, deluxe studios and three, four, five and six-bedroom flats. All bedrooms come equipped with an en-suite bathroom and communal areas are fitted with a 60-inch television and high speed WiFi.

Akash Ghai, co-director of Grayson properties, which managed the renovation, said of the project: "After the success of our initial project, City View at Thornill Two years ago, we saw the vacant high street building as an opportunity to create modern housing for Sunderland's growing student population.

"We hope that the development will help support the area's bright economic outlook as the complex will increase footfall to the area and see smaller businesses thrive which will, in turn, boost the local economy."
