New Student Accommodation in Inverness Nears Completion

New student accommodation in Inverness, Dornoch and Elgin is due to open this month, and will result in a substantial boost to student housing available to those attending the University of the Highlands and Islands.
The £16.3 million project will serve the campuses of Moray College, North Highland College and Inverness College.
The university has been working closely with specialist developers Cityheart on delivering the additional student beds.
The Elgin scheme will be situated on Alba Road and the Dornoch residence on Shore Road, each providing accommodation for 40 students.
Meanwhile, the development in Inverness, located next to existing residences on the city campus, will come equipped with bedrooms for 150 students. Students staying in the residences will have a choice of private or shared kitchen facilities and will have access to cycle storage, laundry services and an onsite support team.
The developments form part of the university's wider ambition to build and operate residences around the region.
Commenting on the schemes, Fiona Larg, the university's chief operating officer, said: "We are excited that the second phase of our residences project is nearing completion.
"Students are at the heart of what we do and the provision of suitable accommodation is an important asset in supporting current students and attracting new ones."
