The University of East Anglia (UEA) has announced it has entered into an agreement with Alumno to provide 244 new beds for students at Pablo Fanque House, situated on the former Mecca Bingo site in All Saints Green, Norwich.

The purpose-built student accommodation will be available from September 2018, initially for students entering second and final years of study. Prospective students are invited to apply for one of the en-suite rooms or studios from January next year.

Despite concerns over the impact the new development may have on Aviva employees working nearby, permission was granted for the 13-storey block last October.

Once delivered the accommodation will be managed by specialists Derwent Students.

Commenting on the development, Paul Bailey, UEA accommodation manager, said: "This new project will provide some much-needed additional, purpose-built student accommodation in a great location in our wonderful city."
