Student Roost has received the top prize in Chester's first ever Housing Merit of Excellence Awards (HoME).

The operator of student accommodation received two nominations for both The Towpath and Tramways and was awarded purpose-built student accommodation of the year by Chester Students' Union.

After being nominated by students and judged by union staff, The Towpath was recognised for excellence in housing standards and services.

In particular, the accommodation was praised for having a high level of cleanliness, first-rate support from staff and for hosting regular events.

Traycie Kennedy, operations manager at The Towpath, said: "We're really proud that The Towpath has been recognised as PBSA of the Year, especially as these awards are voted for by our own residents."

"We work hard to provide sense of community at each of our properties and this award demonstrates the living experience that students love at The Towpath."
