The Welsh Government has announced that more face-to-face teaching will go ahead after the Easter break.
The education Minister Kirsty Williams said students could resume a mix of campus and learning from home from 12 April.
Whilst rules still require people to stay local, it does allow travel for education. Those on campus will also be offered a lateral flow test twice a week.
Most students have been studying from home since Wales entered its latest lockdown in December.
The resumption of in-person teaching comes on the same day that more pupils returned to school.
Commenting on the announcement, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Chris Jones told a press conference there had not been a significant transmission in the teaching and learning environment in universities.
He said: "There appears to be little evidence of community transmission from student populations in Wales and that data indicates low case rates in the student population in Wales."
