Your graduation marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of the next one. All the hours spent in lecture rooms and late-night study sessions have paid off. Your degree is now over and the rest of your life is stretching ahead of you. The week of your graduation offers a chance to say a proper goodbye to your friends, your university, and the city where you've spent the last three years before you jump into your next adventure.

So, how can you make your Grad Week the best time possible and make sure you're ready to leave uni life behind and take your next steps?

1. Get grad ready

By your Grad Week, hopefully you've already sorted out what you're going to wear for your graduation. If not, it might be time for a last-minute shopping spree! But your outfit isn't the only thing to think about. Use the days leading up to your graduation to make sure you're completely prepared so you're not stressed on the day. Have you got your accessories sorted? Have you practised walking in your heels? Have you hired your cap and gown? Do you know where to pick them up from? (If you're not sure, look at your university graduation resources ASAP and check your emails for more info).

2. Take all the photos

Grad Week is not the time to be camera shy. Make sure you get lots of photos, both on the day of your graduation and throughout the entire week with your family and friends. Go around your university campus or city and get photos at distinctive spots, landmarks, or meaningful places for you. You're never going to regret having too many pictures to look back on, but you might wish you'd taken more.

3. Visit your favourite spots

If you're moving away, you're not just saying goodbye to your university, but to your city too. Your Grad Week is the perfect opportunity to head to all your favourite spots in your uni city for one last time. Have a final night out at your favourite nightclubs, or have a last coffee at your regular coffee shop. Get your friends together, and relive some of your highlights.

If you've got family visiting for your graduation, it's also a great opportunity for you to show them around the city and give them a taste of your uni life.

4. Support your friends

Of course, Grad Week is about your graduation, but it's also about celebrating all the people who made your time at university so special. Cheer extra loud for your coursemates as they cross the stage, just as you want them to do for you. Students on different courses also tend to graduate on different days, so the celebrations are bound to last the whole week.

5. Say goodbye

While Grad Week is a happy time, it's emotional too. Your time at university is coming to an end, but you've met some amazing people along the way. Use this final week to say goodbye to all your friends, coursemates, and lecturers. Amongst the celebrations, be sure to make space for any difficult feelings too.

Your Grad Week is all about you - your university experience, your achievements, and your goodbyes. Spend the week being proud of everything you've accomplished at uni and look ahead to the next stage of your life, knowing that the best is yet to come.
