Once you have enabled Canopy referencing in Concurrent, you will have the option to select which type of referencing you need for each tenant when creating a new tenancy contract. 

Credit checks 

Canopy delves deeper into a renter or guarantor's credit report. By surfacing any adverse credit history, Concurrent and Canopy can provide insight into tenant suitability whilst also forming part of your Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance requirements.

Essential Referencing

When you choose essential referencing for a tenant or guarantor, checks will verify an applicant’s identity and address history and assess their income and affordability. Canopy offers biometric ID verification, which forms part of the KYC and AML checks. Income and affordability verification is automated using Open Banking and document-scanning capabilities, but the Canopy team is also on hand to chase applicants and manually review documents where needed.

These key background checks are conducted at speed as Canopy’s technology is designed to increase reliability while providing faster outcomes. 

Comprehensive Referencing

Comprehensive references go even further, meaning you will receive a full tenant or guarantor reference including thorough employment and landlord checks.
