Securing a suitable property and the financial strains of upfront rent payments have been one of the biggest challenges for students in the UK. The majority of accommodation providers in the UK will ask you to pay your rent 6 or 12 months in advance if you can't provide a qualified UK-based guarantor.

Application Process

How much does the service cost with Housing Hand?

Starting from £295, Housing Hand charges a one-off fee for 6 or 12 month cover. You can pay the fee in up to 8 instalments.

Up to 45 percent of this is returned to you at the end of your tenancy (first year 15%, second year 30% and third year 45%), subject to the length of your tenancy, terms and conditions apply.

Am I eligible to apply for The Guarantor Service with Housing Hand?

So far, 99% of student applicants were eligible to the service. Housing Hand don't do credit checks. They only require some information and documentation from you.

For International Students:

  • A copy of your passport and university acceptance letter (or student card);
  • You will also need a co-signer who will sign the agreement with Housing Hand. This is normally a parent or guardian. The co-signer will need to provide a copy of their passport and proof of address

For UK Students:

  • A copy of your passport and university acceptance letter (or student card);
