Figures released by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) show Cardiff University has a record level of graduates in employment or continued study six months after graduating.

The statistics show that 95.7% of UK full-time Cardiff University undergraduates were in a job or studying, representing the highest percentage since the figures were first reported in 2012-13 and above the UK average of 94.6%.

The figure was also up on the previous year (94.8%) and results in the university climbing from ninth to sixth amongst Russell Group universities.

Commenting on the figures, Cardiff University's Pro Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience and Academic Standards, Professor Amanda Coffey, said: "We are very pleased with these results that show that Cardiff University is doing a good job in preparing our graduates for the competitive world of work."

"We are very proud that we work in partnership with our students to take them on an inspiring educational journey that develops their leadership skills and prepares them for employment."

Despite the impressive figures, the University's 'The Way Forward 2018-23' aims to make Cardiff graduates even more attractive for prospective employers.

Professor Coffey added: "We have committed to giving all our students work placement opportunities, over time, as well as continuing to increase the availability of international study experiences."
