London-based property developers, Regal London, have secured planning permission for a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Wembley.

The development, which has been approved by the London Borough of Brent, aims to provide an additional 349 student beds to the area.

Dubbed The Society, the development aims to deliver an energy-efficient building comprised of a mix of ensuite clusters and studios.

Over half of the rooms will be under nomination to higher education institutes, of which 35% will be affordable.

The construction is earmarked for delivery in time for the 2025/26 academic year.

The Society is Targeting a BREEAM Excellent score, a WELL Building Standard accreditation and a WiredScore of Platinum.

Amenities set for inclusion in the build are a rooftop garden, street-side terraced areas, a gym, a dining space and study areas.

Planning Director at Regal London, Steve Harrington, commented: "With over 240,000 students in London currently unable to access high-quality PBSA, we are delighted to be making our debut into this exciting sector with The Society on High Road, Wembley.

"Our presence in the area is growing, following our successful start on site at Fulton & Fifth, it's great to be continuing our collaborative relationship with Brent."

The site is located on Gairgate House and Pitman House on High Road in Wembley, putting it within close proximity of three train stations.
