It's no surprise that Nottingham has a buzzing student nightlife scene as there are two universities in the city. Nottingham is packed with clubs, pubs, and bars, offering brilliant discounts and deals. With so many options, you can go to a different club every night of the week, if you want to.

Not sure where to start? We're breaking down the five best student clubs in Nottingham to give you a sense of city.

The top 5 student nights in Nottingham

1. Rock City

Rock City is one of the most iconic clubs in Nottingham, with two student nights a week: Crisis on a Wednesday and Tuned on a Thursday. From Wednesday to Saturday, Rock City will be packed every evening. You can expect to hear everything from chart-topping bangers to R&B hits to cheesy tunes throughout the three rooms. If you're a University of Nottingham student, Crisis is the biggest student night of the week. Look out for fancy dress, sports socials, and tie and shirt-clad guys on the balcony. Definitely one not to miss!

2. Stealth

If you like drum n' bass or dance music, Stealth is the club for you. Named one of the best nightclubs in the Midlands, Stealth regularly puts on events and hosts popular DJs. The venue has even seen sets from names like Annie Mac, MK, and Disclosure in the past. Their student night, Bubblin' Tuesdays, is popular with UoN and Trent students alike and draws large crowds every week.

3. Ocean

Love it or hate it, it's undeniable that Ocean is one of the biggest student nights in Nottingham. Known for its checkered neon dance floor, notoriously sticky carpets, and incredibly cheesy tunes, Ocean is a feel-good night through and through. A rare student-only nightclub, Ocean hosts two student nights a week, one on Wednesday for Trent students (fancy dress encouraged) and one on Friday for UoN students. The owner, Andy Hoe, is a legend to students and alumni alike. He's even known to fly in from his home in Canada for some Ocean nights. Grab a VK, swing your shirts for Baywatch, and listen out for the notorious 'Erection Section'.

4. Unit 13

Unit 13 is one of the newest clubs in Nottingham. Built and designed during lockdown, it's taken Pom Pom's place on the edge of the Cornerhouse. It has quickly risen through the ranks to become one of the most popular student nights in Nottingham. The venue is made up of two industrial basement units, and can host up to 1000 people. The main room plays mainly house, techno, DnB, and Disco, while the second room plays R&B, hip-hop, and grime. They've even hosted artists including Jax Jones, Chase & Status, and Gorgon City. Start your week right with 'Dirty Monday's', their infamous student night.

5. The Bodega

If you need a break from Crisis every week, Indie Wednesdays at The Bodega is what you've been looking for. Head upstairs from the pub and beer garden, and you'll find a great club space. Dance the night away to some of your favourite indie classics while enjoying 2-4-1 drinks all night long. Plus, it's only £3 entry - what more could you want? And if indie music isn't your thing, you can try The Pop Confessional every Friday or Shameless every Saturday.
