From BLM ADF to RTDF - what Rightmove’s data feed updates mean for you

Rightmove created their automated data feed (ADF) over a decade ago, as a way for property managers to list their properties on a range of listings platforms. StuRents Channel Manager already provided this service, with a powerful API that supports a wide range of platforms and data feed types. To ensure that StuRents is compatible with the wider property market, we have long included the BLM ADF as a feed type that is supported through our Channel Manager feature.
Now that Rightmove have updated their data feed and the new type has been proven, we have decided to stop supporting the old ADF and refine our API support exclusively for their newer version.
If youâve used the old data feed format, youâll know what a laborious process this can be. The BLM ADF requires uploading a data file each night in order to list properties on different sites. The new system, as the name suggests, allows data to be fed to different platforms in real-time, significantly improving listing times, and making the whole process more efficient. Changes to listings can also be made instantly, rather than being delayed by the ADF system previously in place.
