Reassigning single-tenant tenancies is now easier than ever with our enhanced deed of assignment feature.

We’ve recently updated the way deeds of assignment work, so that at least one remaining tenant from the original tenancy is no longer required. This means you can now issue DoAs on single person tenancies, making the replacement process far simpler and avoiding the need to cancel and reissue contracts.

This update is especially useful for property managers who manage tenants in PBSA accommodation, which has a high rate of single-person tenancies. This update also affects HMO tenancies, where contracts may be drawn up on a per-room basis, meaning if the tenancy changes, it’s useful to be able to offer the ability to remove a single tenant from a contract. This enhancement means tenancy replacements will be much more straightforward from now on.

This update can also be used on multi-person tenancies as normal, but will now also cover instances where all tenants may be leaving the tenancy part way through.
